interview with Wading Nine

Have any of you played in other bands? Yes we have all had previous bands.
How is it that you started playing music? Me (mike-bass) I started playing when i was 13. Wanted to since i was 6 and saw kiss on tv..then jimi hendrix on tv..i was hooked.
What are your names? / Who plays what? My name is Mike miller i play bass. Eric Sagarin on guitars and vocals. Ryan Delmolino on the drums. 
Have you had other previous members? Wading Nine has had previous members yes.
Did you make music even when you were young?
I started at 13 basically developing my own style. Not really writing but building my knowledge in preparation. 
Eric has been composing and writing music since before he was born im sure.
Ryan is an amazing drummer. Hes been playing since an early age.
Where are you from? We are from the Hudson Valley NY area. Nestled along the Hudson River.
What year did the band form? This lineup formed in late 2017. I (mike) was the last to join in with Eric and Ryan.
What's your style of genre? Progressive metal/rock i suppose..we have been trying to find the right words to define our sound. That is an increasingly complex task lol.
What inspires you? Imagery..the world around us..everything is inspiring in some form. Inspiring to me is a better future.
How often and where do you rehearse? We rehearse at our studio. It a 24/7 effort. We all have jobs like everyone else lol. Its always about the band.
How have you developed since you started with the music?
Me personally i have developed a million miles working with Eric. Ive learned more working with him than i ever have before.
I think they band just evolves and develops as you go forward. Everything gets tighter..songs evolve and expand..your sound becomes yours.
Do you have other interests of work outside the band? 
We all have jobs. Me personally its the band..that is my life. I do enjoy hockey..family and all that.
We all have interests outside the band but to all of us the band is a major part of our lives.
Are you looking for a booking agency, and what are your thoughts around that? A booking agent would be nice at some point..right now we are self sustained.
Are you looking for a label, and what are your thoughts around that? If one is interested sure. If it was beneficial  to the bands interests then yes.
What made you decide to make this music? Music is what comes out of you. I dont think creating music is a decision..its more of it just comes out haha.
What are your songs about? relationships..emotions..the human race..our interpretation of the world and our viewpoint.
Who does the composing and writes the lyrics?
Eric Sagarin composes the songs. Ryan and I put it our styles into it and we all hash it out. Eric writes all the lyrics..
sometimes he will ask for a word or phrase and we all pitch in. We are a single unit. Eric writes alot..and we do what we do to make
that song the best it can be.
Do you start with the music or the lyrics? Eric usually has a complete idea for the song in his head..conveys it to the band and we all make it happen. 
Do you compose in a certain environment? We compose in the rehearsal room..nice calm lighting and the correct mindset.
Have you done any covers live? No we do not do covers at all.
What language do you sing in? English
What ages are most of your concert attendants? ages completely vary..from teens s to 70s. 
Do you always play the same songs live, or do you vary? our set list is 8 songs for now. writing more as we speak so it will grow. yes we play all of our songs at gigs.
Do you have a regular place you play live often? not really..we will play anywhere!
What was your first gig like? amazing. Every gig is amazing..you are entertaining people. that is your job lol.
What was your latest gig? Gussys bar in astoria queens NY. Awesome place!
Have you had to cancel a gig? NO!
Where have you played live this year? Albany and NYC. Looking into more areas to play.
Where do you plan to gig the coming year? NY,NJ,PA,CT,MA anywhere we can.
When did you start to sell merchandise, and what do you have for sale? At the beginning..we have t-shirts..stickers and the usual merch.
Where can people buy your merchandise? Website or at a live show.
What do you think about people downloading music instead of buying records now a days? It is what it is..we all have to adapt to an ever changing market.
How do you think the music industry have changed because of this?
of course..its impossible not to have to change your mindset. The entire industry is kinda chaotic right now. 
Hopefully it will move into something amazing.
What do you think of my work? I think your work is incredibly beneficial to both fans and artists. You aid in bringing the two together..and that is awesome.
How do you think and know that this interview will help you in the music business? Exposure exposure exposure! name of the game right? Reaching people is critical to any success you have. the fans are the most important.
Do you have any role models or idols? I try not to but you cannot help admiring people. For me Dug Pinnick. There are alot of people i admire but not emulate.
Why do you think that they exist? To make music lol
Is it easier to find inspiration from older bands, or bands that are more active today? Sure..the past and future colliding. It's always cool to see that music is timeless.
What have been your biggest obstacles? None really but your own determination to work hard and give it everything you have to give people music.
What advice would you give other bands or artists? keep going..keep playing..music is a necessity in any time..any situation. Music is essential to the human race.
How do you get psyched for a gig? I just keep my hands warm and build mental power.
Do you have any new material? We always have new material..constantly writing, performing and recording.

What are your plans for the future? Gig as much as possible..gain new fans and keep on making music for the human race. Play worldwide tours..quit our day jobs lol.
