interview with Lugburz Sleed
Have any of you played in other bands? Yes. Karmaged (guitars) - in the band "Gromm" on drums. Also we (Karmaged & Kaswarh) were once friends of the "Deathna River" band. Not sure that we were full members of the band "Deathna River".
How is it that you started playing music? We did not set a specific goal when creating a group. We did what we liked.
What are your names? / Who plays what? / How old are you? We prefer not to reveal our real names. Currently "Lugburz Sleed" is One Man Band: Kaswarh (frontman & producer, born 1987). Permanent member is Karmaged (guitars and other instruments, born 1988). Past members: Savor (drums, born 1992), Tartarus (bass, born 1990).
Where are you from? I was born in Russia (St. Petersburg). But I lived my entire adult life in Ukraine. Now we are in Chernihiv.
What year did the band form? The group was originally founded by Karmaged under the name "Enslate" in 2004. He had a lot of material that he started record from 1999. After I joined the band (in 2005) we changed the name to the current: "Lugburz Sleed".
What's your style of genre? We call it "Chernihiv School": Doomed Atmospheric / Depressive / Raw Post-Black Metal / Space Ambient and other Experimental Electronic...
What inspires you? My Solipsism.
How often and where do you reherse? Studio project. There are no more rehearsals.
How have you developed since you started with the music? In general, a group - is a story about my life. From the beginning to the current moment.

Are you looking for a booking agency, and what are your thoughts around that? No thoughts on this. I do everything myself.
Are you looking for a label, and what are your thoughts around that? I am not looking. I am waiting for suggestions. If they are not received, I make a digital release on the Internet.
What made you decide to make this music? My Solipsism.
What are your songs about? Anti-Human. Anti-Life. Suicide. Drugs & alcohol. Mental disorders. Depression & Joy. Space & Cosmos.
Who does the composing and writes the lyrics? Mostly myself.
Do you start with the music or the lyrics? Always different.
Do you compose in a certain inviroment? From my point of view - yes. For outsiders, I just sit and look at one point :)
Have you done any covers live? No.
What language do you sing in? English. Russian. Sanskrit.
What was your first gig like? We do not give concerts. We had no live performances.

How do you think the music industry have changed because of this? Yes of course. For the better.

Do you have any role models or idols? Only other bands: Beherit, Gromm, Lifelover, Be Persecuted, Summoning, Darkspace, Gris, Alrakis, Nychts.
Why do you think that they exist? Because they are cool! Listen to them ...
Is it easier to find inspiration from older bands, or bands that are more active today? In my opinion: older bands. Nihil novi sub sole...
What advice would you give other bands or artists? Do what you like.
