Have you had other previous members? Yes we have had a few… Martin who was cofounder of the band, Fabio on Bass and Samuel on Drums

Where are you from? 3 from Linköping and 2 from Norrköping

What year did the band form? 2014

What's your style of genre? We mix styles alot but our sound consists of hardcore, punk, metal, grindcore

What inspires you? Fredrik D: Great musicians, music that you can hear the thoughts of the composer.

Are you looking for a booking agency, and what are your thoughts around that? Fredrik D: Well, we are always looking for possibilities to do more shows, but for now we do the booking by ourselves, and it feels pretty good!

Are you looking for a label, and what are your thoughts around that? Fredrik D: Maybe for collab or so, otherwise we have released everything so far through the Sign records, and we are really satisfied with that!

What are your songs about? Fredrik D: Life and thoughts on the situation in world, history repeating it self over and over.

Who does the composing and writes the lyrics? Fredrik D: Patrik write all lyrics, Me, Niklas and Fredrik P build a foundation when we compose and then everyone have their say.

Do you compose in a certain inviroment? Fredrik D: Nope, it all happens in our practise room. Don’t know if the guitar section have some candy, candles or so while they come up with riffs. But we all create under the fluorescent light at the HQ.

Have you done any covers live? Fredrik D: Yes, totally we done three, Skitsystem-Maktens murar rasar, Outlast- Positive hardcore, positive youth and last but not least Hoist a few- six down, six to go

What are the least and most people to attend one of your gigs? Fredrik D: Least it must have been in Gothenburg in the spring 2019. Like two people in the “crowd”, except for our dear friends in Ognemöt who also played at the same show. Most people must have been in Mexico at Punkytud fest 2018, it was like 1500 attending to the festival.

What ages are most of your concert attendants? Fredrik D: I think it’s between 20-30, sometimes it’s like 30-40 though. Too few of the kids nowadays, since we mostly do shows where they sell alcohol.

Do you always play the same songs live, or do you vary? Fredrik D: It depends a little, if we do a show at home we try to change a little. But if we come to a new place we got a setlist for 2019.

Do you have a regular place you play live often? Fredrik D: We haven’t played that much out, but this year it has been two times in stockholm, two times in Linköping. It’s from year to year I think.

What was your first gig like? Fredrik D: I joined the band 2016, so I can’t tell. But my first gig, or gigs was horrible mentally. I was totally stressed out since it’s a lot to remember and I only had three weeks to learn everything. And I never played d-beat and blastbeats before snake tongue.

What was your latest gig? Fredrik D: Our last gig was in Stockholm august 2019 sharing stage with Mar de rabia from Venezuela, Hedniskt avfall and Ilska from stockholm. Great bands, for real! Check them out!

Where have you played live this year? Fredrik D:Sweden, Norway, Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia. But we are going for czech republic, germany, holland and belgium in a month.

When did you start to sell merchandise, and what do you have for sale? Fredrik D: I guess the merch question came about when the debut album came out in the winter of 2016. We’ve got t-shirts, tote bags, pins, LPs, 7 inch EP and patches. I guess the tank tops are sold out!

Where can people buy your merchandise? Fredrik D: At shows, some distros and at freighttrain.se

What do you think about people downloading music instead of buying records now a days? Fredrik D: It depends, in one way it’s easier to get your music out to a lot of people. But I guess you have to be realistic with the amounts of physical copies you put out. There are still a few record collectors out there.

How do you think the music industry have changed because of this? Fredrik D: Well, it gets easier for people to get their music out there, it’s both good and bad. There is no filter, and no one controlling anything anymore, so there is shitloads of bands with no listeners that overflows the channels where you can find music. The one that stands out the most gets the attention, and it creates a lot of fuzz about everything else than the music! Before this, the whole machinery was limited to a certain few, that used their power to make more money. Talking about the mainstream here. And that was also bad in one way. I guess my point is, it’s easier to be creative and you can do a lot yourself, but it’s harder to get heard and get through to reach your listeners. And people gets tired of new things all the time from 1000 bands at the same time.

What do you think of my work? Fredrik D: You are doing a good job and support the music scene in a good way.

How do you think and know that this interview will help you in the music business? Fredrik D: It’s always good to be everywhere, maybe we can find listeners that don’t know about us.

Do you have any role models or idols? Fredrik D: Nope :) No gods, No masters!

Why do you think that they exist? Fredrik D: Maybe people are afraid of thinking for themselves, and are used to put there personal power in other peoples hands. Of course I appreciate what people create and so on, but I don’t get that worshipping part.

Is it easier to find inspiration from older bands, or bands that are more active today? Fredrik D: I think it’s pretty much the same! I can find inspiring stuff in everything I listen to, even if it’s done 1965 or 2019.

What have been your biggest obstacles? Fredrik D: I guess it’s our time schedule, to get shit done. We are pretty active people, so it’s hard to get this band going sometimes.

What advice would you give other bands or artists? Fredrik D: Treat others like how you want to be treated yourself. You’re ain’t above anyone, we are all the same, just stupid humans.

Do you have any new material? Fredrik D: Yes, not recorded yet, but pretty soon.

What are your web sites? http://snaketongueofficial.com

Do you have something to add? Fredrik D: Thanx for having us, good questions
