interview with Rudy Roberts

Have any of you played in other bands? Yes a lot, the most famous are Starmania, Le Cirque du Soleil, I played and recorded with Stu Hamm, Jonathan Mover.
How is it that you started playing music? Thanks to my brother who taught me my first songs.
What are your names? / Who plays what? / How old are you? Rudy Roberts, guitar player, 53 years old 
Did you make music even when you were young? Since the age of 8
Where are you from? From Nantes, France
What year did the band form? 1994
What's your style of genre? Rock Hard Rock, instrumental 
What inspires you? Nature, and other ambience
How often and where do you reherse? Younger, between 5h and more 10h, often and every where ! Now some time at home.
How have you developed since you started with the music? In the beginning I played electric rock and hard rock, and after few years I started playing acoustic guitar in different styles. 
Do you have other interests of work outside the band? I play in the same time with different music projects, compositions and covers.
Are you looking for a booking agency, and what are your thoughts around that? I’m not looking for a booking agency. But it can be a good think to have one... 
Are you looking for a label, and what are your thoughts around that? I’m not looking for a label. I don’t know if its really help a project, maybe yes maybe not, its depends of which one...
What made you decide to make this music? It makes me feel good ! 
What are your songs about? No lyrics, as long as the music made travel in the head…  
Do you start with the music or the lyrics? The music
Do you compose in a certain inviroment? At home, not really special conditions.
Have you done any covers live? Yes, a lot.
What language do you sing in? Except for ma instrumental band, In different bands the singer sings in English or French. 
What are the least and most people to attend one of your gigs? In pubs around 40 , in concert around 4 hundred, more sometimes.
What ages are most of your concert attendants? Between 30 and 50 years old.
Do you always play the same songs live, or do you vary? Some variety in ma different groups.
Do you have a regular place you play live often? Yes.  
What was your first gig like? It was a good experience, in a little place, with the band we had fun. 
What was your latest gig? Last week, rock covers played with acoustic guitars, in a festival, it was cool.
Have you had to cancel a gig? Yes.
Where have you played live this year? A lot in France, around when I live. And 2 in Romania.
Where do you plan to gig the comming year? In France.
When did you start to sell merchandise, and what do you have for sale? No merchandise.
What do you think about people downloading music instead of buying records now a days? Its really harmful for artists.
What do you think of my work? Thank you to you because you contribute to help artists. 
How do you think and know that this interview will help you in the music business? I don’t know how, lets go and see… 
Do you have any role models or idols? Yes, from the beginning to now, Santana, Mark Knopfler, VH, Satriani, and more… 
Why do you think that they exist? For their talent and they were innovator. 
Is it easier to find inspiration from older bands, or bands that are more active today? The same for all of them. 
What advice would you give other bands or artists? Passion and perseverance. 
Do you have any new material? Not at this moment.
