interview with Infinite Silence

Have any of you played in other bands? Well, yes we all did, not with worldwide success tho...
What are your names? / Who plays what? My name is Terence Bougdour I m the lead vocalist, Ben Naire is on keyboard, Ben Peyrusse the guitar and Sebastien Pratabuy the bass and lately Timo as a drummer.
Have you had other previous members? Yes this band had so many different line ups, every year changes operate lol,
Where are you from? The whole band is from France in the Alpes.
What year did the band form? it formed in 2014.
What's your style of genre? melodic heavy metal or hard rock... I feel lost with those definitions loool
What inspires you? For my part, the main influences are from punk rock to 80's hard rock bands,
Ben on keyboard is from progressive metal, Ben the guitarist 90's heavy bands, and Seb comes from the 80's to nowadays heavy bands.
Are you looking for a booking agency, and what are your thoughts around that? Any organistion , or agency promoting this kind of music and asking us to do a gig would be a sign of respect for us, so yeah we would be greatfull for that
Are you looking for a label, and what are your thoughts around that? the music industry has couple drastic changes the last couple years, with all the streaming, and social networks so it 's way easier to promote bands on self manner, but a label remains catchy and make you stand above the "aquarium" so it 's still extremely helpfull.
What are your songs about? As I m writting the lyrics, I like to talk about different kind of subjects, but I really enjoy sticking around philosophy, empirism, heuristic, morals and couple times sexuality. My goal is to go deep in the thougts, and to turn it teh simpliest I can.
I really like what s not conventional, to give a hit to the common sens.
Who does the composing and writes the lyrics? Seb and Ben Naire write the whole song, B Peyrusse operate sticking the guitars , couple changes in the structure whenever needed plus a solo here and there, then I write the lyrics and paste them the best I can with the inspiration of the day.
Do you compose in a certain inviroment?
Seb and Ben work together first, that s the way they always did and I m cool with that as long as it works.
After that we really enjoy working via computers sending tracks via the net, modifying, discussing on messenger etc .... so when we meet up to play together, 70% of the work is already done.
Have you done any covers live? I did but not with this band , and yes they did but not with me as vocalist.
What are the least and most people to attend one of your gigs? pretty much anyone who like rock music and double bass I guess lol
What ages are most of your concert attendants? I d say 20 to 50, and it should go further on the 20's side in the future with this Covid19 thing lol
Do you always play the same songs live, or do you vary? we don't play with this line up long enough so we have 1 set for now, might change a bit next year.
Do you have a regular place you play live often? As I said the line up is fresh and we re not going far yet. that s our next step hopefully.
What was your first gig like? lots of friends and beers
What was your latest gig? lots of friends with their own friends and more beers.
Where have you played live this year? gigs got canceled because of the virus thing, quarantine etc ... no gig this year
When did you start to sell merchandise, and what do you have for sale? it remains basic, Ep on CD, posters and badges. Fortune is right ahead of us loool
Where can people buy your merchandise? on our next gig, via PM on facebook or https://seventhsound.bigcartel.com/product/infinite-silence-never-remain-right-forever
What do you think about people downloading music instead of buying records now a days? for my part, I enjoyed how it was back in the days with Vinyl and big pictures, and still buy some here and there for the type of sound and to collect material.
But it s also super cool as it is right now where everything is almost free, and when a new album is out u get it right away! so I don 't mind buying the gig s ticket 100$ or more and listening to anything wherever and whenever I want to for 10 bucks a month.
How do you think the music industry have changed because of this? yep the ticket s gig is more expensive, the hat and the t shirt also, but the music is free. I m cool with that. the rock stars have to show off even more than they used to so they can remain rock stars
What do you think of my work? the passion seems to be part of it, it s honest and sincere. how can anyone can criticise such a thing
How do you think and know that this interview will help you in the music business? We don 't calculate, we don 't have a plan, we have a passion and so you do
Thanks to you it will hit people like us sharing the same passion or vibes, dependinghow u prefer to describe this. And that s what matter the most.
Do you have any role models or idols? I guess we all do, but as we get older we enjoy and copy certain aspects of our idols, we don 't take one character and have it all in one guy for granted. So we probably have more than 5 idols each.
Why do you think that they exist? they are people who found themselves a certain way and accomplished their skills to a high level which let them stand above all of us. So it s very inspiring to mimmick those behaviors.
Is it easier to find inspiration from older bands, or bands that are more active today? for me it s easier from older bands as I can have a macro vision of them unsted of a micro one on the newbbies. What they ve done worked thru decades, anything new we don 't know yet. (coffee is a must! redbull noone really know yet)
What have been your biggest obstacles? developing ranges on my vocals, finding people to get along with to materialise our music passion, and connecting with more people to play on more gigs.
What advice would you give other bands or artists? having fun and developing your talking skills seem to help having even more fun within a band as much as developping your guitar, vocal nor drums skill.
Do you have any new material? ep, poster and badges that s it for now
What are your web sites? https://www.facebook.com/Official.Infinite.Silence/
Do you have something to add? if you like what we do, or even want to criticise, let us know via facebook, or face up on a next gig, as long as we catch an attention we re the happiest 🙂 (don 't be too rude tho...)
